Student Life

Beyond the classroom, we offer an imaginative programme that offers further challenges and experiences.

Sports

Sports at BIA form an important part of a balanced PSPE curriculum, with all classes taking sports at least twice per week.
We have access to a full sized football pitch and basketball court. Extra– curricular sporting activities are  also offered twice a week and include futsal, basketball, volleyball, cricket, hiking, floor hockey and multisports.

BIA collaborates with SKAC (South Korean Activities Conference) in order to join in National Tournaments and collaborate and compete with others.

“We can try lots of different sports at BIA. We won almost every game last tournament!”    - Student, Year 4.
“The BIA Lions are great because we support each other – with cheers and snacks!”    - Student, Year 5.

The Arts

The Arts are a wonderful way to express ourselves and we develop both performance and appreciation. All classes have 2 hours of Visual Art and Music with Specialist Teachers every week. Additional activities such as Mini Makers, STEAM Club, Polyglot Performance, Choir and Drama Club are offered throughout the year.
We hold an annual Art Exhibition to showcase our visual masterpieces and parents are warmly invited to monthly Class Assemblies, which are student led and give an opportunity for presentation and public speaking skills.

Outdoor and Trips

In addition to unit related Field Trips and learning experiences, the Primary Years also take one overnight trip per year from Year 3 up. Years 3 & 4 have an overnight Camp In in the Summer Term - last year this was coupled with a day trip to Oedo and ziplining.
Years 5 & 6 are invited to join the Winter Trip (Ski & Snowboard) with the MYP Learners in the Spring Term.
Self-Management and Social Skills are hugely developed through these overnight excursions. We also see many examples of the IB Learner Profile and reflect on these on our return.
