Co-curricular Programs

We use the IB PYP, MYP, DP framework, supported by the English National Curriculum.

The Arts

The Arts are a wonderful way to express ourselves and we develop both performance and appreciation. All classes have Visual Art, Drama and Music with Specialist Teachers every week. We hold an annual Art Exhibition to showcase our visual masterpieces and parents are warmly invited to monthly Class Assemblies, which are student-led and give an opportunity for presentation and public speaking skills.
Additional activities such as Mini Makers, STEAM Club, Polyglot Performance, Choir and Drama Club are offered throughout the year.

Sports and PE

Sports at BIA form an important part of a balanced PSPE curriculum. BIA collaborates with SKAC (South Korean Activities Conference) in order to join in National Tournaments and collaborate and compete with others. Therefore BIA’s extra– curricular Sporting Activities are offered seasonally and include futsal, basketball, volleyball, cross-country and hiking.

Language is both celebrated and integrated at BIA – both Mother Tongue and Second Languages. In BIA, three languages are being taught in classes - English / French / Korean. (IB programs : English / CNED programs : French / Korean GED prep: Korean)

For those Learners who have English as a Second Language, we provide EAL support. Learners’ levels are assessed through WIDA and we have a wide range of levels to join.

Action and Trips

In addition to unit related Field Trips and learning experiences, the Primary Years classes take one overnight trip in the Summer Term from Year 3 up. Years 5 & 6 are invited to join the Winter Trip (Snowboarding Camp) with the MYP Learners in the Spring Term.

BIA Students take action when they apply what they are learning in the classroom and beyond. We run an Eco Club to help drive this in PYP and Service as Action is an integral part of the MYP programme. Also, our MYP students join annual Model UN conferences.
